The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations require:
We can help with evaluation of the risk through assessing workers' daily exposures to vibration in terms of magnitude (vibration level), duration of exposure and combination of different tools or operations. Data on vibration magnitude is available from many sources. Where measurement is needed for a particular situation, we have the experience and equipment to help. This is most often needed for whole-body vibration on mobile machinery for which the vibration depends on operating conditions, but we have experience also of hand-held power tools.
We can also help to develop a control strategy, where this is needed, including guidance through a range of steps to control the risk, as well as training for those involved. We can also provide an indication of when health surveillance is required, and what form it should take.
